Treehouse Christian Ministries
Escape. Refresh. Reconnect.
Just two hours north of Carefree, our Art of Marriage Weekend gives couples a peaceful place to reconnect and rediscover God’s vision for their relationship. With engaging sessions and private projects—no group counseling—you’ll grow closer and stronger together.

Escape the summer heat in the cool pines, just 2 hours north of Carefree Highway and 1-17. Leave your worries and distractions behind and spend the weekend focusing on your marriage. God can turn any marriage into a masterpiece!
Inspired by the global impact the classic Art of Marriage has had on millions of marriages, the all-new Art of Marriage is masterfully designed to inspire and equip today’s couples: whether newly married, seasoned, empty nesters, or part of a blended family.
Creatively presented as videos, spoken word poetry, animations, private discussion questions, date night challenges, his and her devotionals and much more, the six aspects of God’s powerful and perfect love can be understood and applied immediately.
Couples in every life circumstance will feel understood and equipped by the biblical wisdom and authentic stories from many wise marriage mentors.
With a refreshing openness that grabs you from the first session, this engaging ensemble candidly discusses a wide range of topics, everything from money, sex, love, habits, and communication, to in-laws, mental health, addiction, and work-life boundaries.
The six-session weekend event weaves together expert teaching, real-life humorous vignettes, and much more to portray both the challenges and beauty of God’s design. The accompanying manual includes projects, articles, and tips to help couples live what they learn.
Our weekends are not group counseling or sharing. We facilitate each video lesson, along with unpacking our own personal stories of challenges and overcoming along the way. You will have breakout projects privately to discuss with your spouse.

Richard and Lucy Dickens
Hosts & Leaders
Richard and Lucy Dickens have been married for over 38 years and are the proud parents of two daughters and sons-in-law. Richard recently retired as the owner of a large-scale demolition company and now serves as a consultant and board member. Lucy is an award-winning oil painter, a “storyteller of fine art,” and the author of Through the Fire: Traveling the Broken Road to Hope and Healing.
Through their own difficult marriage and faith journey, God has given Richard and Lucy a deep passion for marriage restoration. Their heart’s desire is to walk alongside couples—helping them avoid the mistakes they’ve made, or guiding them through the hard places toward hope and healing through the redemptive power of Jesus.
Known for their transparency and authenticity, Richard and Lucy share their personal story in a way that draws others closer to God and helps couples experience the same healing and restoration they have received.
They are actively involved in restorative marriage ministry and mentoring, are deeply engaged in their church community, and regularly host and lead Bible study groups in their home.
Brian and Peggy O’Rourke
Marriage Ministry Partners & Worship Leaders
Brian and Peggy are a blended family who each experienced the challenges of a previous marriage and divorce. Together, they are blessed with four children—two boys and two girls—as well as four grandchildren (two granddaughters and two grandsons).
Having walked the difficult road of broken relationships, they now share a deep passion for helping other couples avoid the same pitfalls and build strong, lasting marriages.
Their core conviction is simple yet profound: the only way to experience a truly healthy and loving relationship is to put God first. This faith-centered approach guides everything they do.
In addition to cherishing time with their family, Brian and Peggy lead active lives filled with exercise, outdoor adventures, and community involvement. They lead worship at their local church and serve on mission teams both locally and internationally, including trips to Mexico and Uganda.
Above all, Brian and Peggy have a genuine heart for marriage and a burning passion to offer hope—encouraging couples to work through their differences and grow into true oneness.
